Sleeping Beauties

My two loves snoozing on the couch

Belly - 29.5 Weeks

Here's my latest belly picture - I'm about 29.5 weeks. Getting closer! We had a nice weekend. I was in Dallas Wednesday night through Friday night for training, and I discovered that sitting in training while 6.5 months pregnant is not ideal. But I learned a lot and I now have enough continuing education hours for 2009 to keep my CPA license in tact, so mission accomplished.

Saturday my mom and I shopped for a girl outfit and a boy outfit to take to the hospital with us. It was much harder than I thought! I was doing some serious over-analyzing trying to decide! I'm happy with what we ended up with though.

Saturday night we celebrated our nephew Taylor's 15th birthday. I can't believe he's 15! He's old enough to get his driver's permit - crazy!

Today we went a couples shower for Jamie & Tim. It was a beautiful day and the shower was in Tim's parents' backyard - it was a great day for it! I think Jason was pleasantly surprised with his first ever couples shower.

It was a nice day. Lots of quality husband-wife time, which is much appreciated these days with Jason so busy with lawn care and me so sleepy all the time.

Ultrasound #6 - 28 Weeks

We had another doctor visit on Tuesday. I took my glucose test, which consisted of drinking 10 oz of what tasted like very flat Sprite followed by a blood test exactly one hour later. They will get the results today and no news is good news, so we're hoping I don't get a phone call! They are testing for gestational diabetes.

The rest of the visit went well - we got to look at Fletch for quite awhile, and the doctor showed us where exactly he/she is positioned - the head is down low, facing to my right, the back is up & down along the left side of my belly, the rump is right in the middle in the top of my belly and the legs and arms are on the right side of my belly. This makes sense since I feel the majority of the movement on the right side. Pretty cool!

Fletch's heartbeat was 143 this time, which the doctor says is a boy heartbeat again. I have now gained 20 pounds (eek!) - they say that's on target.

My latest ailment, which the doctor says I can't do much about unfortunately, is a VERY sore tailbone! Every day I come home from work whining and complaining because my tailbone is SO sore - I guess from sitting in a chair all day. I try to walk around some, but my work is at my computer, so there's only so much I can do.

Here are the latest pictures of Fletch. The first one is a profile of his/her face looking to the right:
This is a good one of the arm and fist. At the bottom of the picture, you can see a knee (on the left), shin and foot. At the top you can see the neck & chin.
This one shows Fletch's little legs crossed. The right foot is in the middle of the picture and the left hand is right above it.
In other news, I had my first rude/random stranger comment. I was checking out at Schnucks and the cashier and I had the following conversation:
Rude lady: Are you due SOON?
Me: No, not until August.
Rude lady: WOW! You are so POINTY!
Me: (jaw dropped I'm sure, how do you respond to that and what does it even mean?)
Rude lady: Is there only one in there??
Me: Yes.

First, why do people think it's OK to comment on your body just because you're carrying a child and second, I know a lot of pregnant people and I am average size - not larger or more "pointy" than others. Strange.

Solo Weekend

Several of the girls and I were golf widows this weekend while our husbands for at the lake for "Golf Extravaganza." That made for a pretty low key weekend, which was fine with me. I spent a lot of time at Melissa's hanging out with Addison. I took a new picture of the little cutie:
Not much else to update at this point. Our baby furniture delivery has been delayed - it was supposed to be here a week ago, but now will be arriving the 2nd week in June. Still gives up plenty of time, but I am anxious to get it all set up so I can get the walls decorated, etc.

We go to the doctor Tuesday morning, so we'll hopefully have some more Fletch pictures to share after that.

Baby Bump and More

Here's the latest belly picture - I am 26 weeks along as of this past Thursday. We had a nice weekend We've been hanging out with Baby Addison when we can (without being too imposing, we hope!). I had Alison's baby shower Saturday, and I think it turned out very nice. Here are a couple pictures, courtesy of Amanda:

The college girls (minus Jenny):
The bellies unite for the last time (sniff, sniff):
After the shower Jason and I watched Mia & Lily for a few hours. It was a good time - we took them to our neighbors' party and they were a big hit. Lily got to try out Fletch's new stroller - I think it's going to do the job:Maggie had a blast with her cousins - it was like a little play date for her!
Another fun thing - Alison brought this adorable onesie for Fletch. So cute!!

Baby Addison

After a VERY long labor, Addison finally made her appearance yesterday at 1:12pm. She weighed 7 lbs, 15 oz. I am very excited to share my birthday with her - I think I'm finished celebrating them after this year anyway.

We went to see her tonight, and she is just adorably perfect.

Patio Party

Yesterday we had a patio party mostly to try out the finished patio and new patio furniture and partially to celebrate my 30th birthday. It was a great time! I didn't take very many pictures, but at least I got one documenting our first patio party:
My wonderful sister-in-law slaved away and made two awesome birthday cakes! Everyone was very impressed and they are delicious! We have quite a bit leftover, but I am certainly not complaining. :)
People have been asking me if turning 30 bothers me. I have decided that it would probably bother me if I wasn't in a good place in my life. I'm married to a man I love, we have a baby on the way and I have a great job. I'm perfectly satisfied and not at all sad about turning 30. Now, 40 may be a different story...
